Recap #pregnantinschool

Caitlyn H. had her son two week before high school graduation. With a wonderful support system and an easy pregnancy she beat the statistics and received a diploma. MTV's show Teen Mom is a series that tells stories such as Caitlyn's.

Kendra M. found out she was pregnant the day she enrolled in her masters program at the University of Michigan. Kendra admitted it was difficult to keep up once her son was born. Kendra decided to drop out of the program and spend more time with her son. Kendra now works full time for a fitness company. Family and Home network gives statistics on working mothers.

Fewer than 2 percent finish college by the time they are 30.” The NCL goes on to report “Children of teen mothers perform worse on many measures of school readiness, are 50 percent more likely to repeat a grade, and are more likely than children born to older mothers to drop out of high school.” dosomething.org explains that the United States has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the world, and that 3 in 10 woman will get pregnant before age 20.
